Ronald Wayne Releases New Album - Hotter Than The Sun

“Hotter Than The Sun” Album 3 from Ronald Wayne

Ronald Wayne brings you his 3rd and latest album “Hotter Than The Sun.” His mindfulness in the eleven songs is the culmination of several years work. With improving recording methodology and new friends at RW Studios in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and plenty of studio time compliments of Covid, Ronald takes you on a journey through solar system becoming hotter than the sun in doing so.

Ronald says about his new album, “The title track for this album, ‘Hotter Than The Sun’ is a companion piece to Galaxy 49.3. This fantasy journey sends you on a smooth jazz trip, leaving the earth and orbiting around the sun in a lazy elliptical orbit. I’m reminded of space journeys because here in Myrtle Beach on a crisp morning walk as the sun rises, we can witness the launch of rockets from Florida. It is far away, but in the dark of night just before dawn, you can actually see the boosters fall away with a burst of light and the trail of the rocket rising from the south out over the Atlantic Ocean.”

Ronald Adds, “Call me a dreamer, but when I wrote this piece and started the beginnings of the recording process, I was out there orbiting the sun watching the flares coming off the sun and viewing the beauty that I see. As you listen, sit back, and enjoy the journey with me, it builds to a guitar solo with several synth parts and the turn around by the drum part I am proud of. Several different pianos and my Hammond come along for the ride and see us safely back to an early morning walk on the beach. Don’t miss this one!”

Ronalds fondest wish is to present music he loves to play to you the listener in hopes of connecting with you, your emotions, and your love of musical things. As it happens, the music takes shape more like smooth jazz with some traditional jazz and a little rock creeping into the mix. Playing and producing this and future albums (already to go) is a bucket list for Ronald. Playing the clubs and gigs in the 70’s was the seed for his love of all things musical. Family life and raising children slowed the music side for many years, but new technology and newfound time to write brought all this new music to the studio. New excitement and energy gives Ronald the ability to write daily.

With two more new Albums “Your Room” and “Goldstreet” coming in six month intervals, you will be able to hear the transformation of Ronalds’ music. With at least another dozen songs in development Ronald is now embarking on developing a new, larger, and improved, studio and ranch residence in Colorado. Sometime late in 2024 new music will come from RW Studio West. This will be a new Chapter and Ronalds musical and personal journey. Ronald and wife Colleen are hoping that you will follow along as we go and enjoy all the future tunes coming your way!

New Release, "Let It Flow" Out Now!

“Let It Flow”

This smooth jazz tune conjures up my early days hanging around Disneyland in the late 60’s. Numerous small clubs catered to the young Marines stationed nearby that frequented them. Our favorite thing to do, in the day, was to find a young Marine who would buy liquor for us. In CA, the age was 21 and most of these guys were under 21, but their uniform allowed them to purchase. We would buy them a bottle and have them get us one, and the party was on.

Sitting in the front row at small clubs we saw the likes of Tower of Power, The James Cotton Blues Band, The Association, and many others popular at that time.

A good time was had by all, and we were able to see some incredible bands. One Marine said, “Oh you guys again! Let’s go and “Let It Flow.” Hence the song name.

This song reminds me of sitting front row with some young Marines, likely heading to Vietnam. Little did I know I would be called up shortly after with a lottery number of 51 it was written. At that time, I was trying to join a National Guard unit and I would have surely been sent, but circumstances changed, and I was not taken into service. Many of my friends from college did not come home.

My favorite groups always had a Hammond B3 on stage and it emblazoned my love of the instrument into my mind. In “Let It Flow,” a brass section accentuates searing guitar leads sending us back to that small stage and an age on innocence while the world fought on. Much like today, the young Marines face uncertain futures and if young Marine jazz lovers listen to “Let it Flow,” you will know we’re there with you wherever you are!

Peace!
